This day in history - March 17th


1845 – The rubber band is patented. A short length of rubber and latex formed in the shape of a loop, patented in England on March 17, 1845 by Stephen Perry.

I think it's safe to add the rubber band to the list of all time greatest inventions. It opened the door for other rubber things to come. We got gloves, condoms, latex gloves, latex condoms, gumby, pokey....
