How to celebrate Cagemas

How to Celebrate Cagemas
by That Kid

On this day of June 9th, so selected because of the opening date of the movie Gone in 60 Seconds, we come together to honor and celebrate the greatest actor of all time:

Nicolas Cage.

The holiday begins by the placing of the rock in the middle of the table where dinner will be eaten at, to symbolize Nicolas Cage’s solid position in the acting community as the greatest actor of all time; also it symbolizes the movie The Rock.

This is followed by taking the bunny out of the box, which marks the official beginning of Cagemas.

The day is spent rejoicing over Nicolas Cage’s movies with boisterous and whole-hearted celebration, and the consumption of much alcohol, which is used to raise spirits and truly appreciate the genius range of Nicolas Cage’s acting techniques.

(Live music may be played but songs from soundtracks which Nicolas Cage has acted in are the most appropriate)

Once it is agreed upon that it is time to begin the Cagemas dinner simply by “Knowing”, the host of the Cagemas (usually the owner of the house or whoever it is agreed upon that year) or “Cagemaster” will begin the dinner ritual by reciting his favorite line from a Nicolas Cage movie of his choosing while holding a copy of the Nicolas Cage movie “Next”.

He then passes the copy of the movie to the “Next” person symbolizing it is their turn to recite their favorite line. Once everyone has had a chance to say their favorite line and the copy comes back to the Cagemaster, he performs the “Face-Off” gesture symbolizing we are all one with Nicolas Cage and that the dinner may begin.

Once dinner is over more rejoicing takes place by watching the Nicolas Cage movie of the Cagemaster’s quote from dinner. Cagemas does not end until the Cagemaster “put’s the bunny back in the box”, thereby bringing a close to Cagemas day activities.
